Hello everyone, Wow it's been a while. Sorry for being so quiet, studies and work take up a lot of our daily lives i'm afraid! But here's another skincare related video and it's also budget friendly! (isn't that a rarity on youtube these days? most videos I watch recommend products where i'd have to take out a loan to afford :D) So that's the short description, read on if you want to :D This video is for those of you who have oily acne prone skin, but have always wondered why despite being oily, your skin may feel tight or have an almost leather like appearance after cleansing from time to time... as if its dehydrated and parched from a water imbalance in the skin. Did you know you can still be 'dry' even though you have oily skin? Hear me out and trust me on this. Dry skin people have an oil imbalance, their skin doesn't produce enough oil which causes the dry/flaky, eczema prone skin. Oily skin on the other hand, has too much oil but it can be prone to dehydration which means your skin is lacking in water. Unlike dry skin, dehydration is usually temporary and can be solved through lifestyle changes. It is how it sounds people, drink more water! and for goodness sake, don't overly strip your skin of its moisture when cleansing. I think we oily skinned lot are all guilty of overly stripping the skin at some point by using products which don't focus on creating an oil balance whilst also giving us the nourishment our skin needs to stay healthy. Products aimed at acne usually focus on stripping the skin of it's oils entirely because we all don't want those spots. The idea of putting moisture onto our faces makes us shudder right? Well you shouldn't, we too need some hydration. Me personally, I have noticed that winter makes my skin dehydrated due to the cold, and the artificial heat. For as long as I can remember, I have always wondered why people told me I was lucky to have oily skin due to it's 'anti-ageing' benefits. I always felt like I had a thick film of oil which prevented any skincare actually getting into the layers of my skin. The oil almost felt like a barrier. And when I removed this oil, all I was left with was this parched, tired dull looking skin. the ton of oil never seems to moisturise my skin. But now I am finally finding ways to combat this starting with skincare as well as lifestyle changes which I will go through in another video.
